Ever experienced a cocktail from a refurbished sea container? South American food done really well? A cheese stick with Guava Sauce? All these and more will be available when Don Tapa in Fremantle opens to the public Thursday 7 November 2013. Co-Owners Anatoly Mezhov, Nathan Tsivlin and Irene Polo have brought to reality an excellent addition to the vibrant Freo scene. Situated down at the e-Shed Markets adjacent to a base of a crane sits proudly a refurbished sea container that serves as a coffee station, restaurant and kitchen.
Co-Owner Anatoly Mezhov and Head Chef Antony Richard Margry
Head Chef Antony Richard Margry describes the menu as Latin Street Food and amongst the notable menu dishes are Gringo Grango Gazpacho made with grapes and mango served with shrimp and toasted nuts, ‘Moqueca’ a rich Brazilian coconut and prawn stew served with rice and beans, Argentinean Pork Sandwich slow roasted with a garlic-parsley vinaigrette and smoked pepper spread and Amazonian Açaí Bowl with macerated strawberries. To go with your Latino flavours is some ice cold cocktails to wash down the summer vibe at this new restaurant.
With shaded outdoor seating and a red hot opening set perfectly for summer, look out for this one on the “what’s hot” foodie and cocktail lovers lists throughout Summer 2014.
